Recipes and Dispatches from the Cinnamon Snail Food Truck.

I have been a fan of the Cinnamon Snail Food Truck for several years. Adam Sobel and his team usually serve the NYC lunch crowd during the week, but on Sunday’s we’re lucky enough to have them join the Red Bank, NJ Farmer’s Market. My go to dish is their “Beast-Mode Burger Deluxe” – one of the most memorable bites of vegan deliciousness I think I’ve ever eaten. The original version was served on a warm ciabatta roll, which then had layers of jalapeno vegan mac ‘n’ cheese, arugula, chipotle mayo, smoked chili coconut bacon and the star of the show an ancho-chili seitan burger that was cooked in bourbon and topped with a hickory BBQ sauce. My mouth is watering just listing out the ingredients – it was a delicious, spicy, flavorful messy bite – and one that would linger on your palate for an afternoon. So when Adam published his first cookbook I was right at the front of the line to get my copy. I was thrilled when it finally arrived on my doorstep. This was one of those books that I immediately opened and poured over the pages in awe of the incredible blends of ingredients and pure culinary creativity. One of my favorite recipes is the “Thai Barbecue Seitan Ribs” – it was absolutely delicious, the only draw back though was the long list of ingredients it needed. In fact if it wasn’t for the complexity of some of the dishes I would probably try out more recipes, because I know they would all be a great success.

Sadly, as of early 2020, the Cinnamon Snail is no longer in service – so while I eagerly await for Adam’s next culinary venture I am happy to have his cookbook available to remind me of his vegan genius.
